Ok it's happened enough times for me to make a post about it. Why does everyone drive their s197 SOOOO SLOW? I must be the only one that utilizes its power out there. I was on I-95 earlier today and there was a s197 in the left hand lane doing 55 in a 60. What the hell? And it was a GT too!

I realize there are a lot of old people on this board and old people drive slow. It's a fact of life. They always want to go exactly the speed limit ormost of the time, 10 milesbelow it. But me, I do 80 on the interstates. And I usually do 60-65 in 55 MPHs on regular roads. Not because im trying to speed (ok maybe on the highway a little) but it's because that's how fast the flow of traffic goes! When you do exactly 55 in a 55 in a stang, you look ridiculous. And plus you holdup traffic and give me road rage

Btw before you flame me about speeding tickets, I have none. Yes 0. In my ten years of driving, I have yet to get a single one because I drive at the same rate as traffic and don't do anything stupid.

PS Why the hell do people age 40 and up drive so slow? They're the reason we have rush hour traffic and congestion!

I do 9 over except when it's raining. I'll go under the speed limit then, stangs don't grip anything in the rain. May as well be on an ice arena.

People driving the speed limit or under in the fast lane is pretty dern annoying though. Even worse when they go the exact same speed as the car next to them in the next lane.

Its hard to speed and jack rabbit start when you have flows and an off road H Pipe.

I leave every light like it's the start of the Daytona 500! If the car beside me even tries to accelerate fast (I don't care if it's a minivan) then it's WOT! I generally do 7-8 over just to be safe. I've known people who've been pulled for 9-10 over.

I accidently responded to this thread on another thread, so if it looks like a duplicate, I apologize. I'm in the 50+ group and I'm on the Intersate 3-4 time a week...average speed 80 MPH, the Left Lane is Mine. I can't think of a single reason why anyone would want to Drive Slow......

Keep in mind some places are thick with the law, and they like to mess with us with for no reason. On my weekend hour and a half drive there are stretches where I know the police will be and you can bet I drive the speed limit there, and never much over. 5 minutes after that I'm doin 15 over and re-taking all those guys who thought I was asleep. Moral of the story is that there are places to abide the speed limit and even places that you go under so you give them no excuse to pull you over.

Caution

I drive normal speed on the road but the HWY is another story... I tend to speed more there then anything else. If I'm alone then I cruise at about 70 ... if I'm with other stang owners and they wanna play then I'll play a little -- maybe a lot [8D]
