I am going to do it today but before i did i figured i would ask you all on here if there were any tips or tricks that could make it better/easier/faster and what not? Thanks in advanced!

RE: Few questions be4 painting my calipers?
i've done this a few times now, so here are my thoughts:
[ol][*]take your time - between removing your wheels, roughing up your calipers w/. some steel wool, cleaning the calipers, and applying second coats, the job is gonna take you two-three hours; don't rush it. which reminds me, make sure you have steel wool and a good cleaner (the g2 kit has a nice cleaner you can use)[*]get a good brush - i've never masked anything off when i've painted my calipers because i've always used a pretty fine tipped brush andi have a somewhat steady hand. immediately throw out the pos thing that comes in the box; using the right tools will make the task immeasurably easier.[*]make sure you give the calipers enough time to dry between coats - i used the g2 kit as well and i really only needed to wait 30-45 minutes or so before hittin em again. but try to stay off the road after the 2nd coat is on for some time. the box says 24 hrs., but that's probably overkill.[/ol]
that's about it just be careful and go slow. good luck! [8D]

RE: Few questions be4 painting my calipers?
A lot of people use steel wool to wipe the caliper down to give it a rough serface. Like sand paper on paint. If you dou get any paint on the pad it will be gone once the brakes get replaced. But do take your time.

I used the DupliColor paint kit. Here's a tip that will help to mask the calipers. As you can see in the pic I used tape on the rotor edge then turned the rotor till it was inside the caliper then I used playing cards shoved in all the areas around the caliper. Much easier than taping there.

EDIT: Also, why is the paint so expensive? I bought the same paint in yellow for 37 shipped off of eBay. Here's a link to their store:

+100 on the new paint brush tip. $2 hobby paint brush from Wal-Mart will do the trick quite nicely.

For the record, I didn't use steel wool on my calipers before painting and I haven't had any problems in 2 months but I also haven't driven it more than 300-400 miles since it has been winter and nasty. I cleaned it really well and it looks like the paint is holding.
