Default Saleen SC and Lowering Mounts

So a few months ago I installed JDM lowering mounts and a Saleen Inlet tube and thought nothing more. Today my battery light came on. I started poking around and noticed this has happened to my alternator wire.

yeah, the heat from the inlet tube and the alternator must of burned through all the wires and plastic covers. Metaled and rubbed right through it?

You know on second view it looks like it split right where the coupler for the alternator extension goes from the Saleen kit. Maybe it was not crimped properly? I can't see that the lowering mounts would be the cause? I have some lowering mounts coming so thanks for posting I'll be sure my battery to alternator lead does not have tension on it nor rubs. I know from readingguys mention this over the top configuration of the main power lead a potential rub through on the flipped alternator.

Does anyone know if when my new alternator wire shows up can I cut open the cover solder then crimp the wire I circled in the picture?

Thanks
