How much were your stripes?
I seen at a dealer that they are adding $1595.00 for the stripes. I think that is a little steep to be paying that much for stripes and they were not even painted on.
How much did you pay for your stripe? Are they painted or stick on?

Where I bought my Mustang I was in the garage talking to a "Master tech" about oil to use. And in the next bay a tech was "installing" the stripes. They are stickers. I ask my "Ford Service Buddy" about the cost, no one really new??? $1500 sounds way to high though. I played with the idea of getting black ones on the Mineral Grey. But not yet.....

I have seen the white and black stripes on the mineral gray and if I were to get those stripes, I would go for the black ones. I was also playing with the idea of blacking out between the tail lights. Seen one picture of that and it looked good.

There's no way stripes could be worth $1600 unles they were painted on in gold leaf!
Some dealerships will add on very low cost items with huge markups. Lots of people don't question why something called "Accent package" is $500 and what it includes, when it turns out to be pinstriping and a wax job.
This didn't happen at the dealership I got mine at (at least, not to me) but it does go on out there so be careful and always ask questions.

1600?!?!?!?!?! Wow, they are almost making a $1300 profit. The vinyl stripes that they sell at the ford place are $300-$350. Depends on the dealership. Thats how much they are supposed to sell them for, the retail value. That includes having them put on! You need to have a chat with these suckers and tell them that you know better than that!

Wow...that is outrageous! The dealers around here want $500 for a 6 piece set ( hood, roof, trunklid top ) installed, and $350 if you buy them over the counter.
I purchased this set for $150 for mine. No idea how long it takes to put them on because I have not had time yet. But I suspect it will be an all day sucker. They also have vinal lettering that goes in the Mustang lettering in the door sill. I got a set in red for my GT, and have had more people comment on that than on anything else I have done to the car. Really set it out.
