Ford Racing Tune on Whipple Supercharger

Ford Racing Tune on Whipple Supercharger
Does anyone know aprrox. how much hp to the rear wheels the tune provided by fordracing is producing. I have the HO kit with that tune, but was considering having it retuned, depending how good of the fordracing tune is. I'm guessing its more conservative? Any input would be great.

450, give or take 20hp. Actually 440 is about the lowest i've seen besides hammerons 411 on a mustang dyno. I'm getting mine dynoed friday so keep an eye out for the results.

hey jgallo, yes the FRPP HO tune is a little
on the conservative (rich) side....
as the rpms get up around the 4700 mark and
above, it slowly gets richer
411rwhp 417 ft/lbs 10psi 91oct FRPP tune
i predict that moose's #'s will somehow be
reported as higher than mine

I'll probably get ragged for this, but honestly, +/- 20rwhp is hardly noticeable at this level. if you're happy with the way the car is performing then leave it as is.
If you're trying to get a better time on the strip then maybe, but for road use I'd save the dyno money for something else.

hey marcus, do you think there are any
long term negative affects on the engine,
by running a little richer than nominal....
i would consider a dyno tune, if it was better for
my engine in the long run

Unless your so rich that you foul plugs/carbon buildup, or wash the cylinders with fuel.....I don't see how its going to be a problem. To my understanding, those are the two main problems with engines and rich conditions.
