Can anyone help with removal of a plastic vent shade?
I poste this in the detailing section, cut did not receive a response. I have the AVS auto ventshade on my car and one of them broke in the cold weather this week.[:'(]What is the best way to remove them without harming the paint?

Never a good idea to put adheasives on paint, try a blow drier, heat it up slowly and evenly and it should pull off.
Or, take it to a proffesional body place and give them the nightmare, then if the paint gets jacked its on someone elses wallet.

I have heard heating the area up and using dental floss. Than some goo gone to get the rest of the tape off. Did you know they sell ones that mount right on the black trim instead of the paint? They look a little sleeker and do not touch the paint.

The placement was supposed to be permanant. It has only been 8 months. I have had the same product on other vehicles without issue. So I wasn't concerned about needing to remove it. I was very careful in placing to make sure the glass cleared when the doors were opened, but did not count on ice getting in the way.
By the way, it has been a week, and not a word from the company on warranty, or how to remove the thing.
