I'm fairly certain that is an old quote. Additionally the HP is rear wheel.... how can any one know what our engines make. No one is yanking them and placing them on an engine dyno.....

ORIGINAL: hardcoremustangs

We are currently running a 07 GT Conv. with a Whipple H.O kit with 12lbs of boost on a stock motor. The car has been dynoed @ 519rwhp and has over 18k miles on the car. We beat the car everyday all day and have not had a problem.
Is that with the stock exhaust? Is that dyno tuned? I'm getting my car dynoed tomorrow! I'm guessing 459rwhp.

Well, if we're talking to the wheels, lets say Brenspeeds Corvette Killer with 500hp, would you for a manual, x that by .15%, and guesstimate its about 425 horses at the wheels, and therefore realtively safe? However, it is running 9.5 PSI on a Saleen. Everyone seems to say that between 4-6 is the safest PSI to run it at, is this mainly due to less ponies at the wheel or? Basically, if I ever get around to affording a supercharger I'm not going to have the spare change in the bank to replace the motor and or forge it, so if I do one...its gotta keep stock reliability, whether or not I beat on it or not...I don't take it to the track, but I can be a very spirited driver from time to time...I also like the idea of the supercharger rather than going with the having your motor built because of less down time, and well someone is tearing your motor all the way down and back again...takes some confidence on the builder...but if you had 5k to spend on the motor would forged internals, crack, springs, and heads generate anywhere close to maybe 375-425 rwh? I'd imagine if you had the money to put forged internals and ran a mid performance charger like this at 500 crank h/p you'd be having pretty damn close to stock reliability with the extra cushion on power...
