..................mustng. I know, it sickens me the think about it, but consider the possibilities. It could be an option. It could be a 6 banger so the top end wouldn't shred the drivetrain. Front wheel drive makes no sense, but if it were 4x4, It would be helpful where many of us live and work. I knew a guy that put an el-camino on a 4x4 frame. Thing was great.

what it needs is independent rear suspension!!!

Besides, not reliable past 500rwhp.
I can see a 4x4 stang in road racing applications though.

AWD adds weight, decreases fuel economy, and will likely decrease acceleration as well.
But it'b be wicked for some of the people on this board who are mofiying their Stangs for serious RWHP.... weight gain wouldn't be a big deal and you'd get to put that power instanteously onto the road.
I give this a thumbs down.
Also a thumbs down to the indy suspension IF what Ford says is true (adds 5K to the car). Wouldn't pay THAT much for it even if it would greatly improve ride-balance. They gotta be fibbing about the 5K price tag a little bit though... that's an awful lot for a car thats produced on such a scale.

I may be wrong but hasn't Ferrari been using IRS since the 60s?

Don't need that either. Not enough gain in handling for the money.
