5th Gear, you have three things on your car that I, as a rule, do not like.....the CDC aggressive chin spoiler, chrome rims, and it's a convertible (I don't like the bony look when the top is up)
HOWEVER, I think you've put together one of the prettiest Mustangs on the forum...as long as the top is down. Nice!

The top is only up when it is parked unattended - which isn't too often.

It is a compliment. I wasn't trying to trash your choices. I was trying to say that it's beauty surpasses my dislike of individual components. I like the classy, subtle style you've achieved.

No.... no spacers...(I think you can confirm this in the first picture by the minimal clearance between the wheel and the caliper)
I'm running 255/45-18's in the front and285/40's in the back Here's anotherpic and I'll think you'll see that it's just a combination of more tire and the FR3

5th Gear, I can't resist asking....are you running wheel spacers? Your set up seems to fill the wheel well much better than usual? Maybe its just the angle of the pic.
Oh, and Sonic, I think you made an excellent choice. I've seen the chrome versions up close and Ford's chrome looks far superior to some of the stuff I've seen the aftermarket offer.

I'm very happy with mine.
After ~ 20 months they are not showing any age.

I knew something was different. What made you even consider trying such a tire size? Thats a lot of meat for such skinny bones. I think a 285/40 is only approved for a 9.5 inch plus rim. Didn't your tire guy look at you like you were nuts? I have been dying for a set of these wheels but in the black versionand have been hesitant because of the skinny tucked in appearance. I don't know if I'd have enough guts to do what you did, but seeing your car has definately opened my eyes. Sweet Ride [sm=loveeyes.gif]

What made me consider? ... they're the same size tire as what's on the GT500. (and I've seen someone who put even wider drag radials on the 8.5" wheels).
They're onlyslightly wider than 275/40's[which are widely acceptedon the factory 8.5's](and 285 is only one CM widersection widththan a 275 of the same brand +5mm each side from center).
Can you really tell from the picturethat the tires are 5mm wider beyond the wheel than a 275? (5mm inside/5mm outside).
If I was going for maximum handling, it'd have a coupe and the 9.5 inch wide GT500 wheels and maybe go with an even wider tire size:-) ... but I wanted a 4 seater 'vert...
