Default Ever notice anything weird after a car wash?

Have you guys ever had anything weird happen after you wash your car?

More times than not, either after washing the car myself or going through a car wash place, something weird has happened to my car. All electrical in nature.

I have lost all my radio presets the next time I start it up.

Car was dead after once after trying to start it after a wash.

And just yesterday, my alarm is now super sensitive and going off when a leaf hits it.

This apparently must be my doing as when I had my audi and washed it, the remote door locks would get screwed up and the car would unlock and set the alarm, ha ha that was embarrassing. A simple disconnect of the battery would correct the electrical gremlins.

Any weird electrical stories from you guys and gals after washing your baby?

Nope. Are you trying to wash the motor with a fire hose?

I know numerous people here had this issue. Check for water on the passenger floorboard.
Not only would water leak, but it would also cause electrical problems. Here's the link for
the TSB.

nothing strange here... i'm wondering if you dont have a problem with water leaking into your main fuse box or whatever that issue is that causes all those wierd issues. there are quiet a few threads on here about it. i know you can find it in the tsb or recall sections if you look.

Is that with a self serve or in your yard wash? Or, do you see it only when you get an undercarriage wash?

Most of the times if something happens it is after going to some car wash business.

I was wondering if there was a grounding issue, but the fact that I had similar problems with my Audi made me think that it is from getting water up into something, beit contacting the battery, fuse box, or some exposed wire somewhere.

Yeah, its cleaner[sm=lol.gif], I was waiting for that response, didn't think it would take this long, thought it would be the first reply.

Never had any water leaks except once after a bad storm, water leaked from the top of the windshield a few drops.
