Default CDC Shaker Hood Scoop And The Rain...

Has anyone had problems with the CDC shaker hood scoop system and rain getting into the engine bay? Since there's basically a hole cut out in the hood and just a trim ring around that hole, how does rain or any kind of water on the hood not get into the engine bay? I LOVE the look of this system and am considering getting this for my GT. Any info on this would be appreciated.

It has kind of a catch tray and 4 drain hoses to take care of the water.

I just installed my last weekend. Like the prior post said, it has fairly large tray to catch the water and run it into the 4 drain hoses. I dumped water on mine to make sure the drains worked. They worked fine, it diverted the water away just fine. I am going to keep a close eye on it the first time I wash it, but I think its OK.

Never had problems yet.
I wouldn't worry anyways since the cover wraps around the whole motor.
So, if overflowing occurs, it won't soak upthe engine.
The alternator is the part you wanna keep dry.

ok this may be a stupid quesiton...but does the shaker hood scoop actually shake? I know on the mach 1's they actually did because it was designed with the intake.

Sure does. :-) It's bolted to the engine.

I get a kick out of it. Mash the throttle and it jerks to the right.

Thanks for all the info guys. I did take a look at TacoBill's CDC shaker install post and it does show the hoses that drain the water away. So I guess it should be alright. Shelby69, let us know what you find out when if itrains.
