Default Tuner question xcal2

I have a xcal 2 that i used for my 2001 cobra. Might be a stupid question but can I plug it into my 2008 gt

Yea you can plug it in. Trying to just read codes? To use tuner for new car, you would have to first set your 01 back to stock tune and unmarry it.

There is more to it than that. You have to have the proper SCT II bios that matches the code on your PCM. Your old Mustang does not have the same Spanish Oak PCM, of which there are several different PCM codes from 05-08 Mustangs.
So the answer is no - You can only read ODBII codes with it and you wont be able to load a tune with it.

Above is all true but I you can send it to a tuner like brenspeed and they can set it up for you to use for your new car. At least you dont have to buy another one.

I would call brenspeed and see, I know it is $70 for their tune but I dont know what else they will have to do to get it working.

Sorry to steal this thread but

I have a friend with a 2003 mustang gt and just got gears. Can I change this gear setting with my tuner, so he's speedo is right, like I can with my car?
