Default Cam Covers Painted, Job Finished (Updated)

Winter Project #1 underway and 50% complete.

Last week I removed teh Cam Covers from my Car, and Had them Painted by a body shop near me. 53 Bucks the guy charged me, they look incredible in person, so here are some pics, I just washed them, have to clean them really good to get the glass beading out from the underneath.

I'll post more pics once I install them again, waiting on some decals from CJ pony Parts atm.

Those are going to look great. Sorry, can you explain the "glass beading"?

Never heard em called "cam covers" before but with 2 cams, it is damned appropriate. Looks good.

I am in the process of doing the EXACT same thing. I ordered a set off ebay and I'm going to clean and paint those so I don't have any down time on my stang.

Just curious, what decals are you going to be putting on?

They probably "sandblasted" them to remove paint/gunk. Those little beads get into everything!

yes the glass beading is a sandblaster per say, it is a self contained unit and uses very very fine sand or glass beads as some call them.

It's a real bitch to clean them out as they are very fine, and they got up under the cover for the PVC valving plate or whatever you call it.

I ordered Ford Racing Decals from CH Pony Parts, I just got them today, it seems they have a white background on them and I'm not sure I'm going to be putting them on or not, I might use an exacto knife and cut out the white, or just put them on as is. I'll have to think about it for a lil bit, I'll take some more pics when I install them, hopefully this weekend.

Looks great. How well will the paint withstand the engine temps?
