Default Stock auto trannied burnout...

Can one of you fine members please post a vid of your STOCK auto tannied S197 GT doing a burnout please? Or guide me to links where to find one? No brakestands either. Just the car atadead stop either in 'D" or "1" or whatever you want.No powerbraking, just mash the loud pedal. It will help settle an argument for me. Thanks in advance...

This is when I was stock.

It was almost impossible to get a burnout just mashing the peddle though!
Depends on your tires and the street.

I rebooted my computer the other day and drove 1/2 mile out of town, locked it in 1 and stomped on it. I got 10 feet of scratch before it hooked up which is just about right. After it learns my driving style, it is almost impossible on a dry surface. Sorry, no pics.

No pics or vids here, but I did it several times when stock. It really depends on the pavement. On plain concrete, forget it. On asphalt or similar it is entirely possible. The best I ever got it to do was on pretty well-worn asphalt, temp probably in the 50s with stock tires (Pirelli)at 32psi. It started out unimpressively for the first 5-10 feet then when the rpms came up it hazed the tires quite well. I went up to probably 5000 rpm like that and let off before it shifted. Went back later in the day and there were a set of 20 to 25 foot long light black marks starting just after where I took off.

Forgot to mention, I had a full tank of gas and 150# of dog food in the trunk.

NO. IT is possible to do a GREAT burnout with a mannie, but it is harder on the equipment. You can do a good one in a auto. You need HP, gears etc. I once had a 1972 Grand Prix and you could stand on that thing and it wouldn't move an inch. Tires just sitting there going up in smoke.
