Ooooh, I'm sure it has. Realistically, you're probably not going to notice the difference in brands (maybe 12-15hp/trq). I just thought I would give some solid evidence that bigger tubes don't always = bigger hp. Even on supercharged 4.6L engines. 5.4L are a different story altogether.

Just stick with the 1 5/8' primaries for the 4.6L.

Interesting, I always thought the 3/4 were better, learn something new everyday

I'm no "expert" by any means and don't pretend to be but I've read (yeah, I don't own a shop or dyno myself unfortunately) a lot of material on headers and exhaust systems for the 4.6L and it's been proven on the dyno that the 1 5/8' perform better on the 4.6L than the larger
1 3/4. It's the same thing with collector/exhaust size. Though a 3' exhaust system flows better with a FI 4.6 and 5.4L (comparitively), the header primary size is a different matter.

I have JBA Long Tube Ceramic Coating. A great quality product, and I have been very pleased with them. I think they ran me just over a $1,000.

that's why i went w/ BBK. mine were 750 for ceramic and the o/r x-pipe together. the difference in performance between brands is like 1-2 hp. the real difference is in the fitment and quality of material, mine fit up good no problems. my BBK's still look brand new, i take good care of them and wipe them down when i get a chance.

Any good LT's are gonna cost you $800-$1000. Those BBK's for $750 are a killer deal, though Idon't trust BBK brand. But if you've had a good experience with them that is worth letting everyone know.

A guy here posted a set of longtubes w/midpipethat were ~$400a while back. Some guys that were familiar with imports said they were JBA offshore knockoffsbut performed beautifully. Others said that their brand of camshafts failed frequently.

My JBA's never fit right until I got some new motor mounts. Now they're perfect.

I think it's a matter of doing your research and choosing a quality product that fits our cars best. Good luck.
