RE: ignition and sparks
I have (although I don't have my mustang yet).
I don't plan on replacing the plugs until I boost, but I'll probably do a ground wire upgrade similar to the "Hyper Ground" system...most stock ground wires are small. I'll buy my own cable and cut it to length, but Hyper Ground website has some good info which would help with cable specifics and placement. Perhaps less copper wire means substantially cheaper production costs for Ford...stock is well, stock.
Aftermarket plug wires are good too. I have 8.5mm MSD plug wires on my Focus and they were probably one of the best investments I've made for the car..smoother acceleration, better throttle response, and smoother idle..maybe even an extra mile per gallon of gas. I'm not sure about the Mustang wires, but the stock plug wires on my Focus seperated from the connection terminals (whatever they're called) after the first removal for the first tune-up.
