4.10's TOO STEEP??
 

I was thinking of installing some 4.10 gears on my 06 GT and I was wondering if going with them will be too steep? I use the car on a daily basis, driving to work or just cruising, no racing. I have talk to some people who have them and say they are perfect and others who have said I should go to 3.73s. Right now it has 3.55s, but they arent cutting it. What do you think??

I have 4:10s and love them. Are you automatic or manual. A lot of people say you should go with 3.73 with auto and 4:10 with manual. With 3.73s you won't really feel much difference from 3:55, but the 4:10s will pop.

Are you goingto do more highway driving or normalroads? If you use the highway more, just cruise, don't race and just go to work then i wouldn't get 4.10s I would go with 3.73s

With 4.10s on the highway your rpms will be higher, causing slightly lower MPG

I Kind of do both, street and highway driving. I have a manual trans.

If your not Drag Racing I would stick with the Stock 3.55 that come with the car, If you have 3.31 then
go up to 3.73. not a noticable difference between 3.55 and 3.73.

Your better off getting suspension parts, if you don't drag make it handle nice for those back
country roads. ;)

i would like to put those in being that alot of the dirving i do is highway and i would like an inbetween type gear.. not to much - not to little

I have 4.10's and I still make 22mpg highway with all my mods

Like GT Guy said get the 4:10's regardles of city or highway driving! FTW.....J
