Default All Season Tires Help me find the perfect tire

I need help the perfect tire and size to get. I will be mounting these tires on to my stock 17in Bullitt rim. I live in Chicago land so I need a tire that is okay in the snow but good at the track. I think want 255 width for better traction at the track. I have a SCT tuner, so I can adjust for deferent tire size.

I am looking at three all season tires.

My favorite tire, because TireRack ratings and road&track review, is the Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S. This tire comes in 235/55R17, 245/45R17(-5.5% differences from stock size), and 255/40R17(-7.9) sizes

In second is Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. This tire comes in 235/55R17, 245/50R17(-2%), 255/40R17(-7.9%) and 255/45R17(-4.2%) sizes.

Three but has the perfect size 255/50R17(-.5) is BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS and they also come in 245/45R17(-5.5%).

What is your guys options on the tires? Should I get one of them at the stock size or go for the wider tire? What affect on the car with getting a tire that is 7.9% shorter then stock? Or should Ijust get the KDWS becuase they have the perfect size?

Thanks everyonefor the help

too bad you don't have 18's. I lilve in Mt. prospect, and am getting rid of my 235/50/18 BF-Goodrich G-Force KDWS tires, for 250. Less then 6K on them. Good luck man.

They are an awesome tire all year round. But, I had to go with Blizzaks due to my new found power.

Where about do you work? I live right off of Golf and Elmhurst.

Get the Kumho Ecsta ASX tires in 255/50/17. They are cheaper than the BFG KDWS and have a higer rating.

Buy American, skip the CumHo's!

Youll find the footprint is a little larger on the F1 All seasons in the stock size, vs the stock pirelli's.

Land of Lincoln is in the house!

I just got the Goodyear F1 all season tires based on the Tirerack ratings and a review in Roundel. Even though I upsized to 18's with 255/45's front and 275/40 rears, they feel more stable in the rain than the previous tire - Pirelli Zero Nero M/S's which were OEM 17's. The Goodyear F1 AS's seem to have the best wet performance of the AS tires in the various comparisons.
My son's Audi A4 also has the Goodyear F1 AS's. They did great in a recent snow, but that might be more due to the Audi quattro system.
By the way, the Goodyear F1 AS is available in the OEM size - 235/55/17.
Good luck. All thetires you mentioned get good reviews, so you'll probably be fine either way.
