how did you get the fuel pump tsb done.
Iam having trouble getting my local dealers to replace my fuel pump under the hesitation on acceleratoon tsb. After i cruise for about 50min when i go to pass the car hesitats. Five dealers told me the car has to do the same for them before they can perform the tsb. How did you guys get yours replaced without the dealer driving you stang for an hour?

Wait a second.......perhaps this is my issue? I seem to get a "flat spot" around 2100 RPMs, and it usually occurs after cruising. I was told it might be the cmcv plates as well.

I took mine in Last week and it sat there for 2 days and after 40 miles it couldnt be duplicated. Then they said an inspector must be sent out. I picked up my car and said bye, Ill deal with it.[&:]

I took mine to one dealer and after they had it for a day, they couldn't replicate the problem. Hell, they acted like they didn't even know there was a TSB for the pump. So, the next day I took my car to another dealer, told them about the hesitation and what the other dealer said. The service manager knew all about the TSB and in fact had replaced the pump on his neighbor's GT. They took my car and four short hours later I had no more problems.
It's really all up to what dealer you take it to.

I've been wanting to take mine in for this, but no way I'm gonna let them take a 30 minute cruise in it. That would be a one hour trip counting both ways.
I can live with the hesitation, but I think the new fuel pump is an upgrade, so I would like to have it. Does anyone know if it puts out more pressure?

I walked right in, told the service department my car was hesitating and told them about the TSB. They didn't test drive it, they just took my word and I was back out within two hours with a new fuel pump. I haven't had any problems since then. I bought my car from Allen Vigil Ford in Atlanta and they have been great. They even replaced my air bag because of the problem with the emblem on the airbag going bad. I don't understand why some dealerships give their customers a hard time. Don't they realize that they won't be back if they aren't satisfied??
