Yesterday i wanted to go for a drive and she wouldn't roll, damn was i pissed. I called the roadside assistance number that came with the car, had it towed to my dealership. They fixed it today as per the TSB. Now im just waiting for someone to get home to take me to go pick it up. Apparently there is something wrong with the factory cables that allows water to intrude, and i guess it just froze in thewarm 17 degree weather here in Pennsylvania.

Like Matt said...the TSB 06-05-4 (Park Break Freeze) covers your problem. I have a copy of the TSB, but it's .pdf format...not sure I can attach here. If you need it, send me a PM with your email address.

RE: emergency brake stuck in cold weather

So i got my car back, they replaced my e-brake cables under warranty. The ford part numbers were 6R3Z-2A635-E and 6R3Z-2A635-F. I got a complimentery oil change and they put in 5 qts of 5w-30. I thought the 4.6 takes 6qt of 5w-20?. What a bunch of idiots. I know there are different debates about whether or not you actually need 5w-20, i dont want to get into it, but i think the dealership should have put inthe right oil.

yeah, 6qts 5w20 for sure...
if they're such morons[sm=headbang.gif][sm=bangbang.gif]I'd double- and triple-check the brake job they did, just to be on a safe side...
