Default Shaker 500 AMP location, and what can you run of it?

Where is the shaker 500 amp located on these mustangs? and can you run subs in the trunk off it? I'm new to speakers and subs, i dont know must about them, but i want some bass in the back. I was thinking 1-12, or maybe 2-10's. What are you guys running off the stock amp? Thanks, Jord

good question that i never bothered to ask lol. i think the head unit might contain the amp but im prolly wrong. my idea was to change all the speakers in the car w/ better quality ones. if u change ur 8" subsin the door it will sound damn good cuz its in the car and not the trunk. mtx makes an older 8" in the thunder series that is a direct fit, if i can find the link i'll post it. ur best bet is to change all the speakers, get a decent amp, and possibly a new head unit too.

There are 2 of them that drive the door subs in the Shaker 500, they are mounted in the drivers side footwell on the fenderwall (to the left of the firewall).

I don't know much about the specifications of them but I doubt you'd be able to run anything good from them other than perhaps some replacements.

Yah i dont have the $$ right now to do anything too crazy.I think i will leave the stock speakers as they sounds pretty good i think, but i just want a bit of bass in the back. So i'm thinking 1-12, just wondering if i would have to get an amp for it or if the stock amp can handle it.

You'd lose the subs in the front if you did try and wire it that way.

You could always do something like a bazooka tube for the time being. It isn't much more than a box and a sub and it comes with an amp.
