Drop in K&N

RE: Drop in K&N
I replace the paper filter with a K&N 2 weeks ago and noticed little or no change in gas mileage or power. It did however change the tone of the engine but as said above very minimal. CAI and tuneinstall in about 2 months and the K&N moves to the wifes V6. As for gas mileage I went from a V10 Excursion to the Mustang soanything over 18 mpg is super. One thing about the change to the K&N is it will not hurt and you can upgrade to CAI later.

RE: Drop in K&N
I've had mine now for 2 months. I can't notice any HP or MPG gains, but it didn't hurt since I am still at 27 mpg. I like the fact that I no longer need to buy those $20 Napa Gold air filters.

I didn't want to keep throwing out old, dirty filters and having them go straight into our landfills, so I switched to drop-in K&N. I think I am getting slightly better mpg, maybe 1mpg, but no noticable power gains. Would need over 10rwhp to notice a gain anyway.

RE: Drop in K&N
I would say the $50 and just wait on a tune/cai package. I do have an economy package on my site that includes a custom VMP tuner and the VMP GT intake with a special sale price of $439:
