Factory Shifter 2005 vs 2007. I drove a buddies 2005 today and noticed the shifter feels completely different than my 2007.
His is silky smooth but not that positive. Mine is very notchy but very positive. At first I thought it was just the mileage. (20,000 vs 4,000).

However on examination I noticed the 2005 shifter appears to be slightly longer and has a dog-leg inside the boot where mine is straight.
When did Ford change the shifter design?
Try the 08 notchier than my 07 was!!
