Default would this be bad???

i just bought a set of gt500 replica wheels size 18 by 9.5 wit ha set of high performance tires. i was wondering if i want to smoke up the tires i could put my old wheels on the back and leave then 9.5's on the front. the old wheels are stock i think 18 by 8.5

Not with you. Would what be bad? Just throwing them on to burn up is fine right?O mean, it's not like anybody will be looking at the rims, they'll be too busy choking back the tire smoke

but would it be safe to drive around with my rear wheels at 8.5 wide and the front ends 9.5??

Burn up the 18 x 8.5s for funs and save
the 18 x 9.5 HiPros for show and go.

spray at little bit of pam cooking oil on the rear finders before hand so the rubber wont stick!

What difference could it make??

I guess if the sizes are REALLY different, the higher relative rotational speed of the rear wheels would trick the TCS into thinking that they're spinning, and would activate traction control off. This would be easily mitigated by turning off the TCS.

It's not like we're AWD, and need to worry about frying a center diff.

Its not erally a problem if its a little off, the speedo will be off if you change the diameter too much though, the ABS could get confused also if off too much.
