Default Anybody Running BAMA Tunes On Their 07-09 GT500? Please share your experience

I'm about to get my JLT CIA, 2.50" Pulley, and BAMA tuner and I'm wondering what I can expect from the BAMA tunings.

They said there are (3) 91,92,93 octane tunes for the GT500 on the tuner. I'm not sure what the difference is between the tunes, or how the tunes account for my specific JLT + 2.50" Pulley + SLP Loudmouth combo. Do they just send out the same (3) tunes for every GT500 or are they actually specific to the application?

Thanks.

You are correct, Bama Tuning will give you 3 types of tunes on your new tuner. You need to tell them what octane of pump gasoline you put in your 'Stang, that is why you have the option of 91, 92, or 93. This is because a GT500 stock requires 91 octane. Those of us with "normal" mustangs can choose 87 up to 93 octane. The 3 standard tunes that they give you are (1) Street Tune - this is the mildest of the 3, and typically is best for Daily Driver and fuel economy. You will gain a HP boost, it is just not as aggressive. (2) Performance - this is a tune that is more aggressive with power gains. It can be used on a daily basis also. (3) Race - this is the most aggressive tune and best used at the track.

The gasoline octane can be mixed, but I personally like to pick the same octane for all 3 so that I can change them whenever without worry of having too low octane in the tank. Also, be sure that 93 is offered in your region if you go that route.

The tunes will be specific to your application. They ask you a bunch of questions about YOUR specific set-up so they can dial it in.

You can expect to never stop grinning, and to have trouble driving like a normal human being ever again!

I see you've already been some great information! I can definitely touch base on this as well.

For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys. We're also part of Fords Technology Transfer Program & Work very closely with Ford to insure that all of our tunes are perfect!

We will write you a Street, Performance and Race tune for your GT500. You can pick the Octane level that you run in your Shelby and we will write the tunes accordingly!

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

I only run 93 octane in my Shelby. Will the three programs still say 91, 92, 93? You say you're constantly developing your tunes, how do I know I'm getting the newest most powerful tune?

What I'm getting at is do you guys just send out the same (3) tunes for every Shelby?

If you want the most powerful tune, take your car to a reputable tuner and have it put on a dyno. ALL mail order tunes leave some power on the table... they HAVE to due to the small variances from car to car. I picked up quite a bit of power when I left the world of mail order tunes. Just my .02
