2007 onwards is the best ones to go for
no gauge cluster problems
no water leaks.

if your buying a manual make sure you check the gearbox and clutch for noises..check where the clutch bites aswell..me i personaly prefer the autos.the manual gearboxes and clutchs feel like cars built in the 60's to me...crude noisy and just awekward.

I've had my 07 gt since it was new and the only thing I had issues with was the ****ty battery but I'm sure most have already been replaced. Spark plugs and that's about it

Familiarize yourself with the TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) associated with these S197's. There are quite a few issues but about a half dozen can be real "gotchyas". Fortunately, beginning '07, most of those were resolved. An '08 would be your best bet and they can be had for the $15k range if you're patient.

Good luck and welcome!

I agree, check for water leaks on passenger's side, noise in gearbox, and also check for any noise in the front end. I doesn't take long at all for the front end components to start going out.

Same as the others. Front end clunk noise, my car had it. Replaced the front LCAs and it was gone. Mine is an 06 and is beat on hard at the track yet runs like a champ. These cars are stout, good luck hunting.
