Default New to mustangs and traction control....?

This is my first car, so far i love it. Just wondeirng how does traction control work, when doing a hard launch are you supposed to take it off? Does TC lock up both rear wheels so thye both spin?Ifi take TC off and launch will both tires spin or just one?? It seems like with it on my RPM's go down and the back end feels like isjumping or something? If anyone could explain it to me that would be great, thanks. Jord

traction control shouldnt' affect positive traction...you should be spinning both with it off...

Traction control when on will pull power from the rear wheels to help you regain traction. The hopping feeling you describe, is exactly that. The rear axle hopping up and down.
When wanting to launch hard, turn the traction control off and to eliminate the wheel hop pick up some aftermarket lower control arms, an upper control arm and relocation brackets if necessary, depending on the type of control arms you buy. Hope that helps.

So with traction control off and i go for a hard launch, or burnout etc...areboth back tires still going to be locked up like posi track once they start spinning, or will onlyone tire spin?

Depends, do you have a LS?

Nothing is going to be like a "posi" unless you have a posi, spool, welded spyder gears, etc.

So you put in a posi unit into your car? No S197 comes with posi.

No traction control only retards timing and applies the rear brakes in the event of excessive spinning.
