Have a question about the V-6
What kind of performance do they have... 1/4 times..0-60,with the auto? Now that I ordered my GT,my Girlfriend is interested in the v-6.She wants a daily driver, that gets fairly good gas miliage, but that is still fun to drive. How does everyone like their V6 stangs? We test drove a auto v6 today and it felt pretty snappy,it would really cut loose in the corners if you put your foot into it.It didnt have the traction controll or abs,is this a worthwhile option? My Girlfriend drag races and road races semi-pro,so she would have no problem with not getting it,but if we do get the option she would be able to peel out and do burnouts with it when she turned it off right? Also we didnt find out if it has a posi rear end, does anyone know?

RE: Have a question about the V-6
if your girl dragraces, she isnt gonna be happy with a v6. get her the GT. if she can keep her foot from burying the gas pedal (very hard to convince yourself to do this [sm=gears.gif]), then she will still be able to get somewhere around 19-21 mpg. plus too, the GT is only a few thousand more than the v6.

The cheapest GT I have seen was $27,900. My V6 Premiun with several options was $21,990. To me, that is more than a few thousand. Plus I get about 25mpg if I behave.

although i have the 5 speed v6 i test drove the automatic and its a sweet car. i get pretty bad mileage for what i should be getting because i drive it pretty hard. She would love it. remember its got 240 torque so it definitely is a sweet car. cant complain at all. goodluck with your choice

I drag race and have a V6 Premium 'vert coming. I just wanted a good cruiser summer car with some pep but it doesnt need to set the world on fire. Gas milege dosent matter that much to me.
The difference between the V6 and V8 for what I was looking for was $6000, thats MSRP not including the added mark-up stealerships are asking for the GT.
Besides, my race car is a street driven 94 Caprice station wagon that I drive to the track, bolt on my slicks and run 12.50's.
Can you imagine how self concious a new GT would become when parked next to a HUGE station wagon that a full second quicker in the quarter mile [sm=laughat.gif]... it would feel [sm=owned.gif]
I think she would be fine with the V6. BTW I test drove the manual and automatic and unless you live in LA or Chicago, definately get the manual, it was much more fun and seemed to be set up a little better for gearing, and it's a $995 less to boot.
