where do people put the cap with no "tether" when filling up?I have a similar issue but only when its <20F outside and not willing to cut it quite yet.
Iusually just set it on top of the pump.I had to get a locking gas cap due to ex-girlfirend issues. New cap didnt have tether.

I lean mine up agains my billet door and resting on the pump. That way I can't forget to put it back on when I remove the pump head.

Thats a good idea. I assume this will work with the factory door also.
Im cuttin that sum beetch off!
It gets twisted up sometimes when turning it and closes the door on my hand. Not that it hurts, but makes is a pain to tighten, and worried about bending the door.

Dude, don't cut it off, you can save it just in case. Just pull it out, has little grooves in it. I added a locking cap to mine a while back and I just leave the keys in the cap and set it off to the side of the wheel whilst filling up.

True, you don't need ot cut it off, just pull it out. Mine still has a little tether but just isn't attached.

well it turns out the door was bent a little. it didnt look like it from a glance, when i was washing the car today i felt it and just bent it back with my hands. there is now just enough room for paper to move between the side of the door and the fender when i open. im just curious as to how that happened. luckfully it didnt rub all the way to the metal.
