FI and AutoX

RE: FI and AutoX
The Turbo cars make massive midrange but you have to learn to live with the lag. In my opinion all turbo car lag its just a matter of degree. Thankfully most modern cars have nowhere near the lag of a 1976 930 (911 Turbo Carrera).
If its just for fun go ahead and do the Turbo. You are not likely to be competitive in the class you will be in without a dedicated autox car anyway so its all about fun. Even if the car is often a touch slower with the turbo you will getmore satisfaction out of welldriven lap with it.Thats why I still run real street rubber at the strip.

RE: FI and AutoX
Like I said before, autox is just a past time. Dont take it into consideration when you buy FI. When I first started autox i was obsessed for about a month, then it ended... now i just go because i know everyone and its a chance to let loose, no longer do I care about fast times or trying to get a trophy (which I never will).
You should base your decision on if its practical or not. For me its not... The needed clutch upgrade, possibly engine, tranny, super/turbocharger or rearendproblems, need for better tires, guages, etc etc makes it too costly, risky, and stressful for me. So even if I had $6K laying around I probably wouldn't buy FI.
You mention your dad is helping so my guess is hes there for you if you have problems or need more upgrades for fun or safety or to fix something broken. In that case, definatley go FI.
I personally prefer a turbocharger with a big blow off valve. Sounds stupid, I know, but i LOVE the sound of big V8s with a loud PSSSS from a blow off valve. It says that your engine may be huge but it still wasn't even good enough for you.
Its laggy though so for street driving a supercharger is probably better.
I wouldnt know though.

Thank you so much Ohnoes.
I'm sure this isn't going to become something serious, and now that I think about it, I think its kind of stupid of me to be basing my decision off that.
At any rate, I know I will have a blast.
