From what I've heard on sound clips, resonators make your exhaust note kind of lame.

All resonators do is change the timing of the exhaust signature (tone) on each side to help eliminate the drone at whatever time you are experiencing the drone. I would recommend 2 slightly different sized ones (resonators)to change the time when both are flowing at the same time (with out the resonators) causing drone. I read it in an article on one of the many mustang mags I have ...it makes sense in the magazine. You are changing the exhaust frequencies to help eliminate drone....... JMO hope it helps

check out the link it gives you an idea what they are and what they look like and hope it helps! J

Why not put in 3.73 or 4.10 gears to get your RPMs over 2000 at cruise and out of the drone range?

Not sure, but this sounds like it may hurt my gas mileage. Anyone know?

3.73 just made it more annoying for me.

If you don't like the drone.. just get new muffs... it will make you much happier than chopping up your pipes.

I've heard you can pack some foam in the spare tire wheel well and that it helps. I've never tried it as I don't have drone but it's something to try that's cheap and if it doesn't work, you aren't out the price of resonators or new mufflers.

Hey there,

STILLEN Axle-Back mufflers dont drone (one of the things that the company ownerspecifically wanted to make sure before we released them).
