Default Active Anti-Theft and Windows

Apparently one option on the cars is being able to hold the "Unlock" button down on the key fob (?) and after a couple of seconds, the windows should roll down as you approach the car. Another was sticking the key in the lock, turning clockwise, and the windows will roll up.

My GT did neither.

Just got back from the Ford Dealer. Had a 1300hrs appointment. Couple of minutes early. Was leaving at about 1315hrs. Features now work!

All they had to do was hook up to computer and turn the "module" on.

It's all about the wheel locks... the people stopping to look at your car, it's like "hey... nice wheel locks!"

Thanks for th tip. I'll have to remember to try all the features for the alarm to make sure the module is "on" before I leave the lot...

I'm thinking you can not do it yourself.

Fellows at the dealer were fundamentally unaware of the feature. I showed it to them in the Owner's Manual. The "Computer Guy" took it back to the shop and checked it out. I was only there for like 20 to 25 minutes. Of course that all depends on availbility of people. I did make advance notice with the Sales Guy I worked with, time I would like, and he told me which Service Writer to talk with.

What does the AAT do? Does it have an immobilizer or does it just honk the horn and flash lights?

Based on what I have read and been able to do on mine the AAT does the following:

- When the vehicle is unlocked with the windows up you can put the windows down by pressing and holding the unlock button on the remote for several (not sure exactly how many) seconds
- When the windows are down if you place the key in the door, turn clockwise and hold, the windows will raise
- When the windows are down and the AAT has been armed there are two motion detectors placed by the map lights. Any motion in the car sets off the alarm.
- When the AAT is armed the alarm will sound if someone attempts to tow it

That is what I know about. I am sure others can chime in where I am wrong or what I may have missed.

I better off getting an after market alarm with more features and autostart.

I need to read my manual. This is all news to me.

I keep on driving the car instead of experimenting!

Guess I'll play in the garage on a rainy day. Still NOT hoping for rain so I can drive it! LOL
