Some people are under the impression they will crack easier (the overall design for any drilled/slotted rotor), which is why some people choose one style only. I don't think most of us are going to be heating up the brakes all that much anyways, it is more for the looks, but the pads will definately help over the stockers.

i read a decent amount about the differences between the rotors before i bought em, and most claim that there is no advantage aside from better heat dispersal. but then again, some also claim that the drilled and slotted rotors are weaker...and some say that they allow for better stopping power b/c. they don't get as hot.

hmm, was that ambiguous enough for ya? heh!
I have had many experience with slotted, drilled etc. but, remember the more metal that is removed from the rotor means there is less surface area on the rotors. I found that you just need to apply more pressure to the brake pedal to make up the difference.
