Default Sound system gurus help!

Okay so in the n ext month or so im buying the pioneer Avic z2 or maybe a higher up model depending if its out or whatnot.. anyway for this convo we will say the avic z-2 im gettin and am going to install it.. someone told me today the way its wired you need to replace EVERY speaker in the car because it will not work for some reason i forgot why he said but do any of you guys have a nav put in with ur stock speakers?? i dont see why you couldn't
(i have the shaker 500)

no...that is false....you can wire the avic and the stock speakers without any problems and even use teh stock subs with a small voltage regulator or resistors

All you need if you have the Shaker 500 are these parts:

Wiring Harness (Metra Part # 70-5521)
Dash Kit (Metra Part #95-5812)
5V Fixed Voltage Regulator

I have the Shaker 1000 and replaced my head unit with a Pioneer touch screen (see mods below for stock number). I kept the subs, amps, and replaced only the front speakers cause I wanted to. But I was told by car toys and best buy to replace everything - wrong! Any audio installer at Frys knew exactly what to do. Don't let anyone sell you gear you don't need.

Just so you know, buying the Z1 and buying the upgrade harddrive on eBay would be much cheaper.

well i did n't buy them yet but im going to buy the avic z-2 which is about $2,200.. for me its about $1,000..
the other parts im going to need to order.. didn't price em yet though
and im in Islip, NY 11751
