Anyone done any 302, 351, etc... Swaps?
Who here has a larger V8 than 4.6L or 5.4L GT500 motor? Can it be done?
Don't ask. Let's just say I have alot of business money left over from 2007 that I get to spend on business related expenses, and I would like to buy an 08 (or 09) black GT and drop something nice in it for shows.

Its tough to say how hard it would be... But guys have done it. A few on here have the 5.4L in their cars.
I was REALLY considering getting the new Boss 302 engine from Ford. Its only $4700 @ 345hp. But I just wasnt ready to figure out the clutch/tranny needs, etc. Too much $$$ and time in the end.
If I had more choice Id get the 5.0 cammer engine... Its the V8 in the FR500C that outputs 420hp N/A. Its definately the greatest engine in Ford's stable. Not even the Ford GT's 5.4 can touch how the cammer is built. At $14K, its a serious engine... Complete drop in, includes computer etc.
Anyways, yeah its possible but you gotta research have $$$.

Nelson, if you do this... Buy a sixer, don't ruin a GT[8D].
I want to do this so bad and I WILL, but I'm saving dough for the Vortech in my sixer first.
Then, I'll play with another S197 in a radical way: Man "O" War 427 stroked, 625hp/600tq with a six spd.
Of course, it will be another LL car... I'll have Mommy and Daddy kinda thing.
If you go carbureted, it's a piece of cake to pull this off.

Pascal beat me to it.
Save the money, buy a bone stock v6 with nothing on it(except for maybe interior upgrades), and ditch the engine.
I too was thinking of doing the same, but I still have a GT. It would make for a nice progject though.

Hey guys, I'd seen that video before - nice huh! Well I'd love nothing more than to buy a V6 but I thought it'd be less expensive to buy a V8 since it already has a posi rear end, good driveshaft, etc..
I'll try to seek info from that guy on youtube. I have a 40-60k budget on this one.
So v6 is the way to go for this?

Still doesnt matter, you dont save that much money getting a V6.
If you have 40-60K for this.... Id definately get a builtup engine like the 5.0 cammer and get 420hp out of the box, and add FI on top of that.
There are some sick S197s out there, research what setups they have.
