CLUTCH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 450 500 RWHP?
I just installed a Procharger a couple of moths ago, then put it away for the winter. When I get it back I still will need a dyno tune. I am guessing w/o juice, I will be around 450ish at the wheels, and about 500ish with a small shot.
The question is, do I go with a street/strip clutch? Or a racing clutch? And which one has been proven. Also, I plan to go to forged internals and stroked in a year or two.
Thanks for your input.

I have a Spec Stage 2+ on my D1SC...its finally broken in...my car burned the stock one up on the dyno so I had to get the new clutch...I haven't had a chance to get it back on the dyno yet because I am installing long tubes...but I would say if you get a Spec go with the 3+ and get their flywheel, apparently they won't stick behind their products unless you use their flywheel with their clutch...if you steer clear of Spec the shop that installed my clutch said they have had better luck with Centerforce on the S197s...those are my thoughts...

I went with the Spec 3+ from all I read its a great unit. I've only have 60 miles on it so I cannot tell u much about it other than it is very on/off with a very small engagement zone

I think for a street car the Centerforce dual friction might be just fine. They claim that many 600whp Terminators used that clutch w/o a problem. The DFX would be the next step up. Spec makes a nice clutch from what I hear, but it's on/off characteristics may make it harder to live with on a daily driver.

Everybody likes what they have and I'm no exception.
This company builds the clutch to the strength you ask for.
Here's my clutch rated at 600lbs.

The flywheel. It's a little different than most.
