I dont mean to offend anybody who owns a new stang, but its just that I luv the stangs so much that I just feel this pain when I see such a glamor car look so ugly and non-muscle(ish).

What do we all say? Since we all own or have an 05 on order we probably like them a little more than you, but I do have a question for you..... why did you just join an 05 mustang tech forum, just to say you don't like them? You have way too much time on your hands brudda. LMAO
Read the last portion of my 1st post again.

Absolutely, the answer is very simple. It would be the one that was the most becoming to the person looking at the line of the cars. That is bottom line.
Some folks like the 05, some like the 01-04, some like the 67-69. It is completely in the eye of the beholder.

Just as it is in the eye of the beholder to think that someone discussing a "muscle car" should probably have more than 6 cylinders.

The topic is valid. I'm suprised I don't see more posts by people saying they hate the new Mustang.

But I, however, was tired of seeing the "2001-2004" style, especially with the fake scoops on the hood and sides. Each year the only difference was the corners were rounded a little more. It will probably happen with the 2007, just you guys wait -- same exact body with a slight rounding of the corners. In any case, I'm in love with the 05 style, and I've got blue ***** here waiting to get one.

IMO the 94-04 stang looks homo. I like how the 05's look way better. The new GT standing there looks more like a true muscle car to me, mostly because of the retro look.

The good thing is that the older styles don't seem to lose their appeal, in my mind anyway, all Mustangs look pretty cool.
Uh... I am gonna have to throw you a big fat disagreement there...

IMO there during the 80's the Fox body was looking like total A$$. In fact the Mustang and the Escort were virtually identical at a glance, untill you really looked at it. But the idea of confusing a Mustang and an Escort is almost as bad as the thought of confusing todays Mustang with the Focus. The idea is apalling! Imagine rolling down the road and you see the back end of an 05 Mustang and even for a second think to yourself, "is that a Ford Focus?"... Uhhhggggg!!

As far as the "Retro" look of the 05, it is simply somthing that I think the media has imagined. In reality the 05 is the first all new body in 30 years. Not a single carry over. The 67-69 hint is more imagined than real. Yes the 05 has a psuedo fastback, but that is about it.

Again IMHO, the smooth refined, yet undercooked look that the 05 has is nothing more than a blank canvas to be modded. I had an 02 and there just is not as much you can do with it due to the fact that the lines/curves or lack there of are pretty much what you see is what you get. The 2000-2004 bodies with their lines and agressive stance look much like an F-117 stealth fighter. Yeah it was pretty. when compared to other cars on the road, but the ability to mod it and make it look REALLY different from all the others just wasn't really feasible.

As far as the 05 goes, it has barely been on the road for 6 months and already I have seen half a dozen truly different designs and, not to mention just leaving it stock.

For instance, How many people have seen a 2000-2004 Stang with window scoops or rear window louvers? I am betting not many of you. But on the 05 they look pretty damn sweet!!

FYI up until the 2005's new body style the aftermarket for mustang parts/mods was an $800+ Million dollar a year market. (BTW the Mustang is the "Most modded car in America" in case that was not known by everyone!).
I would be willing to bet the farm that that number will increase by at LEAST 20% over the next 3 years due the the new body style!!
And that is being pretty conservative considering that Ford has had a 45%+ increase in Mustang sales...

Just my 2 cents at least...

Hey as long as you have a stang dude it's cool, but did you expect to be welcome with open arms here with that thread? And as far as muscle goes, the new GT is lower/wider and faster than the 99-04's period. IMO though the upgraded wheels are a little corolla ish, but it's the width of the tire you are referring to and my car hooks up just fine - too much more rubber under there would just be a waste.

ha ha..I know i shouldnt have started off like this, but i have been thinking about this for quite sometime now..being a die-hard mustang guy and coming across so many new stangs while driving on my way to work simply forced me to pen down my opinions!!

See,even you agree about the width of the wheels!! I mean just compare the old GT wheels and the new ones;the difference is right there staring in your eyes

Hell, i wouldnt want my mustang to be compared to some goddam corolla [:@]
