Fuel Tank not filling up all the day - 07 Mustang
So, new mustang(bought used). Had to fill up the tank for the first time this morning. It was on empty. It stopped filling the tank up at 6 gallons, and started pouring out. I turned the car on, and it was only filled up halfway.
I've heard older Mustangs had problems with this, but thought it was fixed. I scheduled a service appt. at the dealership for Wednesday for them to check it.
Anyone else have this issue?

if you look at the TSB it talks about the main hose going from the fuel door down to the tank - on the main page on the forum you can see the tsb, or just do a search.

I don't think it's the fuel pump. As mentioned, there's a TSB on it, and the fix is a new gas tank, but it doesn't always solve the problem. many have found that turning the pump handle upside down alllows them to fill all the way, and that the problems seems to vary by gas stations. Good luck.

Very common on the S197's. Do a search. There's a TSB but thanks to Ford's design, even the TSB won't solve it. And some service station pumps are more sensitive to it than others. The work-around is to fuel at as slow as the pump allows and often you have to turn the handle on the pump about 45, 90 or more degrees one way or the other.
It happens on occasion with mine. PITA but not so bad once you get used to it.

hey boochy, because of the way our
saddle tanks fill (drivers side first, then
the gas spills over to the other side), it
might be beneficial for you, to fill up
where the passenger side of your car, is
a little lower than the drivers side......
