I'm up there with you in age and have found that I now just try to regulate when and where I employ the use of horsepower. Like that d!ckweed that tried to take me off the line at the stop light last week just because my lane ends soon after the light. Traction control rocks! In my previous 'Stangs I would be all over the road with the horsepower we now have. Luckily I work early in the morning when most cops are still picking up that first box of doughnuts. Nothing like a red Mustang to attract a little attention while the guy in the blue Honda screams on past. So, no. Keep that Mustang. Just use good sense.

RE: 45 and cant keep my foot out of it
We recently bought a 08 GT/CS and when i drive it she gets a nice 18.4 mpg average in town, when my wife drives it it plummets to 16mpg, i swear she drives it like it is stolen. My son even ratted her out one day as she pulled out of the garage he said she was patting the dash board and said "It's ok baby I will drive you like you were meant to be".
After that and a few other comments like "you drive like a grandma" and "that purple hair color looks good on you" I decided to get her back. On the way home one day on a back country road I showed her what a few weeks of high risk driving school could teach, after I peeled her hands out of the arm rest and the color returned to her face her comment was "I had no idea that this car could do that.... I had no idea you could do that...Please never do it again."
I am 34 and have never had a speeding ticket just because I don't drive like a maniac does not mean I cannot, just adopt that attitude you know your car is fast but you don't have to prove it to anybody unless of course you have a wife that needs to be taught a lesson

Automatic? put tacks on the gas pedal and drive barefoot. That'll work until you get used to the tacks.

I have found that the urge to hammer down has subsided somewhat as the GT nears it's first birthday. No go away mind you, I'm not dead yet, but it's usually only 1 or 2 times a day now instead of 6 or 7 like it used to be.

Here what works for me:
I got two chamber flows and an o/r h pipe. IfI step on the gas too much, it gets LOUD. Being that the car is very loud and that the cops could hear me at full throttle from a 5 mile radius; I keep my foot from mashing the gas too often.

It's not easy to restrain yourself, no matter how old you are. I'm 49 andI got stopped by three cops at the same time the other day. Luckily one of them lives a few doors down, and my son has grown up with his son. He jokingly gave me some $^!+, and sent me on my way. It kept me more alert on how I drove for a few days. LOL.
