I've got a stock setup if you would like it. It has the shifter (never used) and the IUP shifter ****. I could sell it for 20 plus shipping (which is like 5 bucks). Let me know.

i agree with ohnoesaz - i can't imagine you'd be happy with the stock gearbox; it's terrible and was the first thing i changed. perhaps try one of the host of other am options, i.e. mgw, pro 5.0, etc. but a dealership test drive wouldn't hurt, for comparison sake.

Tell us how that works out for you.....I think you'll be back to the Hurst soon enough. Save your parts.

From what I understand the shifter has changed in '08, or at least the bushings. Its definately different than 05-06. The bushings are definately changed in the bullitt, but im pretty positive the regular mustang has also.

Try to remember the way you takeHurst Shifterout, 'cause when you put it back on it'll be that much easier for you.

I drove a friends corvette with some short throw shifter and I didn't like it. So I might be able to relate to what your talking about. However the stang it appears to me I'm spending too much time shifting when I could be hauling some ***. Maybe a little shorter throw then the one we have. Since I'm like rich poor maybe I'll just buy a shifter this year and make my wife happy since she knows l'm looking at the Brenspeed driveshaft. I'm also checking with a local mustang shop on how much headers and install will cost. That hurst shifter is inexpensive isn't it?

i have the stock shifter and setup (mine's stock...look below)

i went to the dealer to testdrive a shelby gt that had the hurst shifter, and man i gotta tell you, i was so jealous. lol i'm getting either the hurst or the mgw very soon. i heard you can use the stock **** with the mgw. so it'd be like you are going stock, but not really

I installed 5 transmissions and leave one in first, the next in second and so on.
Then I just switch between them and dont have to change gears persay.

The notchy feeling will go away, but the shifter will feel very soft, the throws will be very long, and you will probably start missing your shifts. I used to miss shifts all the time with the stocker, not anymore with the Hurst.

Try another shifter, people say that MGW is smoother than the Hurst, but don't go to stock.
