Magnetic tape or 3M tape for blackout?

Magnetic tape or 3M tape for blackout?
I just ordered a Xenon Blackout Panel for between my tail lights. I read in one post that the guy applied the 3M tape to the panel and then applied magnetic tape to the 3M tape for easy on/off. So now I'm wondering how I should install this when I get it. I'm afraid that if I use magnetic tape that I'll take a ride somewhere and when I get out of the car my panel will be gone. Does the 3M tape mess up the paint job? Anyone tried the magnetic tape? Any suggestions?

There are several good threads with discussions about this topic. You'll find a wide variety of answers, but they're worth reading through. Don't think you'll find anything definitive, though.

RE: Magneti or 3M tape for blackout?
i've never tried it, but i know i'd be nervous as hell that it would come off at speed with only magnetic tape holding it in place. jeez, my rear window louvers make me skittish sometimes goin 85 on the highway, and they're bolted onto the car.
