Default So I went to the track

I ended up going with my friends to the Texas Motorplex which is a 1/4 mile track. This is my first 5- speed which I have been driving for 4 months. Also my first time to race.

But anyways, my first time was slow as hell which was a 14.7 at 90mph. my last run which was my fourth one, I got 14.42 at 97mph. I had raced a nissan z and got beat lol. rawr!!!!

I was dissapointed with the times but I was told I did good for my first time. What do yall think and are there any pointers any of you have? I started off at about 2500 rpms.

O btw, the tree on the starting lights wasn't turned on either, two stage lights lit up then a guy hit the button for green sometime after that. reaction time was another issue.

I have an 05 GT.

Take out the system, Spare tire, Jack. You can even let some air outa your tires, to a certain PSI. Also if you want remove the back seat its not to hard.

When you shift, instead of bringing your foot straight off the Clutch once you shift, Kick it to the side, dont granny shift!

I got 14.2 at the track my first time and the next time out I got 13.9. Just keep getting runs in and get your shifts better.

The Motorplex is a sweet track, is it not? The launch pad there is probably one of the best in the country.

Don't be ashamed. When I went the track stick 05's were all in the low 14's just like you. I ran a 13.72 with a bad computer but I have all these mods also. One of the stick cars said I figured you had an auto with that time. I guess that means unless you have street slicks and can launch it at 4500 or so then 14's is pretty good. Even the pro's in the mags have a hard time getting into the 13's stock. Hope this helps and keep postin times. I will repost my times after the dealer finishes with it.
