I need to change my plates from what they are now to something a little more subtle that doesn't come off as cocky or snobby etc. And something that fits the car.

Exactly.

It really was a gift from my parents to me for christmas, and I feel bad that i'm going to be switching them, but it's almost like people are caring too much about how ghey the plates are.

Are your parents trying to shove golf down your throat or something? lol
That seems like a random license plate to give.
Are we missing some of the story here?

I'm a big golfer, I work at a golf course, so they came up with the idea since I was struggling with Mustang specific ideas. I was kindof excited when I got them because I was like "cool, now everyone will know I golf", but I've realized it almost makes me look cocky in the sense that I think I am the next tiger woods, or I am obsessive over tiger which I am not.

All i know is, if I show up to the job this spring with those plates on the car, I'm never ever going to hear the end of it, lol. Now i'm looking for something way more subtle and related to the car.
