Guys, if you have the coin for S/C plus install, then why worry about the warranty. If you blow up your engine, just replace it!

If your stang is a daily driver, I probably would not supercharge it until your warranty is up. Just my .02.....

I'm wouldn't be particularly concerned about my engine since the Whipple is a reliable kit.

Bought it at Lethal Performance, it is an Aeroforce gauge. It reads info from the OBD 2 port. I had the IAT relocated to after the blower so it is the real air temp the motor see's. I can compare it to the ambient air, also read by the comp to see how much the blower is heating the air.

At cruise it is about 4-6 deg F higher. At WOT it heats up really quick. The number you see there is from heat soak though. I shut the car off and let it sit so when I restarted it it read high.

Thanks,

If you cant find it on their site let me know and I will try and find a link.
You'd be better off tossing that gauge as it does nothing for you. You should replace it with a wideband air/fuel ratio gauge. The ait won't tellyou if you are damaging your engine, but a wideband A/F ratio gauge will!
I cant argue with that but I am talking about something different. I am saying I can see if I lose my intercooler pump because the IAT's will rise. I have the aeroforce gauge set up with an alarm when certain parameters get out of range like detonation and such.

I agree an A/F gauge is great and I will probably get one in a vent pod on the drivers side eventually. The thing is you have to recal them every 3000 miles for them to be accurate and that is alot of work. With my setup I have plenty of injector, fuel pump, and rediculously safe tune set up for 91 octane and I run 93. I have little worry of causing any severe damage, possible yes, probable no.

When I up the boost and get a dyno tune I will install the gauge to help monitor whats going on.

Good point.

But I dont think I will throw the gauge away .If I ever have to troubleshoot something I think it will come in real handy, and I like the performance reader even if it isnt accurate its fun.

Thanks, your car looks great.

I am currently doing the 20's to 18's wheel battle. I really like the redlines.

how much did it cost you for whipple and install?
Whipple - $5275 shipped to my door
Install - $800
That sounds like a good price. Where did you get it? That doesn't include an intercooler does it?
I got it from Steve at Tousley Ford in MN and that is for the HO kit, it doesn include the intercooler.

1-800-328-9552,

Dont know on the Gen 2 thing. I will check tonight. I ordered right before that came out.

So it does or does not???

I lovee this picture:

....

Yeah I had to take that one. It is the classic Whipple Pic. I would put it in my sig but Moose already took it.
That's a wise decision. So where was the gas leaking from? If it were leaking out the pump hat then you'd have smelled it for days inside the car.

I'm going to install a new clutch right after Easter and then we are going to meet up for a race. Both whipples at 8psi, but I have 4.10 gears. It should be interesting.

Don't hate on the aeroforce gauge, it does plenty. Your wideband gauge is only reading the air/fuel on one side of the motor, what if the other side goes lean for some reason? So you have a 50/50 chance of saving your motor assuming you are paying attention to the gauge at WOT every time, which I seriously doubt. You'd probably be better off monitoring your cylinder head temps using that useless gauge in the pic.

The gas was coming out of the overflow tube I believe. The installer said that it must be the lift pump to get the gas to the other side of the tank. There is a hump in the middle due to the driveshaft, for those that dont know.

Seems to make sense. All I know is that he beat on something with a big hammer and now it works fine. I must say I was a little concerned with his methodology but I have had 0 problems since so it did do something.

Your not going to make me burn up my clutch are you? I have been nice to it so far trying to make it last till Oct/Nov time frame.

From a dead stop I am toast. Like I said I am still on the stock tires. These things just wont die.

From a roll with 4.10 I would say you have the advantage but I never turn down some fun. Loser buys the first round.
