Default My half *** job / some questions.

Okay, so i completely re-edited this thread, so ignore the first few posts

Anyway... i got the bbk intake used, and it had no instructions, the guy who i bought it from did it without the heat protector, so i wanted to use it. Me and a friend went to put it in and we couldnt figure the damn thing out! We got pissed, so we tried bending it and trying to fit it in. Finally, i posted a thread about it and found out we had to remove the radiator cover.. so i did it about 5 mins ago, and since the heat protector was all bend up and stuff, i didnt know where to line it up, so i just bend it some more, and put it wherever it fit.. heres some pics.

Heres my question, what is this thing? Does it get hot? The heat protector is touching it...

Once you pop the middle, you need to pry the edges with a screwdriver. Takes 5 minutes, tops.

Pry up on the center part like you did, then pull the whole thing out. Not just the center part. After you pull them out, the rest is self explanatory.

Wait.. after i pry'd up the center part, do i hold the center part and just pull? I dont want to break any, so better safe then sorry.

OK, leave the center part up, then get the rest of the anchor out of the hole. The center part just goes down and expands the other part so it will hold sort of like a wedge.

One more thing. When you go to put it back on, make sure you get the front edge under the grill lip.

if you line it up it should fall over what bolts you have to remove to get it to fit and then just re-bolt it

I would do that, except for the fact that my friend bent the hell out of the heat protector before i knew you had to remove the radiator cover.
