Default RE: Question

It can be bad if you're doing this all while not moving (as in trying to burn out, etc.), but if you're just starting in 1 then going a ways then shifting to 2 driving a ways then shifting to 3...then shifting to Drive it's not bad for your gears. Those are there to cause the engine to turn at a slower rate. 1 being the lowest D being normal. All you're doing is causing the car to shift earlier (or later) than the computer would.

Yea, you can manually shift it all you want to. Not sure why you would want to do that, but you can.

Default RE: Question

To more clear puttung the car in N then reving it up then slaming into any gear is very bad! When I was in high school a buddy use my car this way and broke the motor mount, u-joint, and transmission mount.

I repeat do not slam it into gear from N!
