17x9 front and 18x10 rear
Anyone using these sizes? I havefour of 17x9 bullets, still in box, and want to do a staggered setup. I was going with 255/50 and 275/50, but to get matching sizes it would have to be eitherFalken Ziex or Nitto 450. From what I've read, neither tire is rated that well.
Plus part of my goal is to minimize fender gap as much as possible. I have a pair roush rear springs to fix that. But they are not installed.
So moving on, I was thinking of doing 18x10 bullets for the rear with 285/40 and keep the 17x9 front with 255/50. Both these sizes have near identical specs, even compared to stock. My only concern is, how would it look?
Does anyone have pictures of the two different wheel sizes?

RE: 17x9 front and 18x10 rear
I have 17x9 and 18x10 bullitts on my car. Unfortunately it is in the body shop. I have 255/50s Nitto 555s up front and 305/35s Nitto DRs in the rear. They are not noticeable that there are two different diameters. My only mistake was not getting 40s in the front. I suggest getting lower profile fronts.

I can't imagine not liking it. I've just never seen it on our cars so had no visual. I too am not a fan of the DD of up front. So your saying lower sidewall for the front? Any clearance reason or just preference? The 255/50 is slightly shorter than stock and the 285/40/18 is equaly height. Remember, I want reduce as much fender gap as possible with out changing the suspension, well, other than the roush rears which is only a 1in drop. I'd like to keep the car leveled.
Btw....Are the Nitto 555's a all season or summer tire? I've read both on certain tire websites.

My car is a warm weather car. I had Mickey Thompson DR's on previous and the stuck like glue. So far I am not impressed with the Nitto DR's but read they are much better when warm.
I didn't do the math but assumed 35% of 315 would match up nicely with 50% of 255. It looks like two different cars. Way too much sidewall up front. Almost embarassing. My car will be away for 2 weeks. If you do not buy them before then I can send you pictures.

For the math part, the 255/50 is .2 shorter than stock so I wouldn't think that's too much for the front. But I wouldn't go any lower than a 45 sidewall up front. I don't plan on lowering the front. I would DR's but I'm in MI so the rain and colder temps sways me to all seasons.
Yeah I'd like to see pics of that. I'm still a month out before I do anything.
