Hey guy's it's not just the women !!!!
My husband hates my car.
First of all when I bought the car, he gave me a monthly payment limit.
And THEN he proceeds to make fun of my V6. You know....Slapping his
forehead....I could of had a V8....It's just a V6....Bullsh*t like that.
Everytime I want to do something on it he gives me a hard time.
All I've put on it: chase lights, a black-out panel, Roush 1/4 louvers and a gt single muffler.
Of course he has to install them!! (everything but the muffler) Oh that goes over real big.
Talking about kissin' his ***..... As much as your wive's or gf's hate your car
just think if you had to have them install the parts!!!! Feel my pain?
Can you tell I'm kinda angry today??!!
When he gets in the car ( passenger side of course ) he will drag his feet
over the sill thingy and leave dirt / scratches.
When we go to the store sometimes he makes me drop him off at the door
because I park out in BFE. Now if I spend anything on the car he has to bitch
and spend money on the cabin. WHATEVER!!!
Oh, and he just loves when the guy's flirt with me..try to race me or tell me almost
everytime I'm out that I have a nice car. Just this last weekend a dude in a Charger in the next lane was lighting up his tires and trying to race me.
I looked over at my husband. He acted like he didn't even notice.
Funny the kids in the back seat noticed.
Oh wells...sorry for the rant.
Glad it's Friday.....I need a beer. lol
BTW that's the only time I let him drive.
I hear ya Theresa! Maybe we could start a thread called "Husbands and Mustangs."
I will say, he never disagreed about me buying my Mustang. He knew I sold my GT four years ago and heard mevow that I would buy another.
The only major mod I have done is adding duals. I've done a few interior dress-up mods, but nothing elseto the body.

He doesn't appreciate sports cars like I do and doesn't understand what I get out of reading forums like this or getting car magazines like Motor Trend. He rolls his eyes when I say I want to go to a car show. Now if it were a show on four wheel big honking trucks he would be the first in-line!

So I guess for the most part, he doesn't give me too much lip about my Mustang.

I think that would be a good idea for a thread.
As far as I know there are only about 6 of us girls here right?
Well....besides Off Topic girls.
I go to car shows / cruises with or without him.
I think he can't wait to get outta there tho.
You are lucky he doesn't give you too much crap.
I get it weekly. [:@]

Yeah, I have that problem with my wife. It took me about 6 months for us to "agree" that I could get my supercharger. Now everytime anything comes up she holds it over my head. I did promise not to buy any other car mods for 1 year.

I understand where she is coming from as it seems totally irrational to "normal" people. I just explained that it was important to me and she relented.

I dont drink in excess,do drugs, or gamble. If this is my only vice I tell her she got off lucky.

I am bringing my wife to her first mustang meet tomorrow, the Central Florida Mustangforums meet. Hopefully she will like it, but I doubt it.

I think if your paying your bills and there is food on the table, then
I don't see a problem with buying parts for your MUSTANG !!!!
That is why I work for a living, to take care of my family, and to be
happy. Believe me I take care of kids for a living. Sometimes it gets
to ya !!!! I have 6 small kids now and take on 12 in the summer when my daughter
is out of school. Sometimes after work I get to take it out for a little ride.
After a few minutes, I think.....yeah it's all worth it.

I think some people just like being the boss in a relationship, and
I don't like anyone telling me what to do. [8D]

My wife loves the car too, justnot quiteas much as I do.I'm the one who takes care of it, so,
I drive it M-W-F and she gets it T-Th. As far as mods go, we make deals. Ex:If i take her out to
dinner and a movie...I get my lowering springs. She spends 400 on hair, make-up, nails and clothes,
I get my exhaust. I keep track, and when she spends, I xfer $$ to the mustang fund. Like others
have said, as long as the bills are paid and we have food.

The only problem I'm forseeing is if one of my mods screw up the drivability of the car. Then I'll
never hear the end of it. Like if the springs make it to stiff. I know she'll like the exhaust no matter
what....she actually wants it louder too. I want gears, but that'll make it rev a littler higher.

I married my wife because at the time we were dating her Dad had a '95Dodge Viper. Both her Dad
and her brother are as obsessed with cars as I am so she understands the passion of driving a hot car.
She learned very early on from her Dad that having your own sports car to customize and drive is a great
stress release and allows that much needed space at times. Over the years I've been very fortunate because
of my relationship with her family tohave the oppoprtunity to drive: Ferrari 355, Porsche 911, Porsche Cayman S, Dodge Vipers, Corvette Z06, BMW Z8, Subaru WRX STi, but my favorite of all is my Mustang.

Yes , I know the feeling I pick the right times to speak of the car. She too is jealous of it and calls it the money pit and also dislikes this website. Good Luck and be thankful because you are livingwith your dream car.
