Default So I need help justifying this to myself... and my friend...

I have a bone stock baby V6 mustang. Beauty. Did a bunch of exterior modifications. badda bing badda boom she looks fast.

Problem is, she's not that fast. As a bone stock, she's no faster than the cute girl right next to me in the convertable (maybe a little faster because the vert IS heavier...)

So I was thinking of what to do. Gears, TLOK (not for speed, but 1 wheel peelouts SUCK) CAI with 91 torque/perf and 87 torque tunes, and dual GT takeoffs that I'll probably upgrade to dual FRPP with an X-Pipe on it.

My question is, that's roughly $1,500 worth of shmozzola and labor. I've already got true dual GT takeoffs with a nice H-Pipe but I can sell those off. Would all the work, time, and money be worth it? What kind of umph will I get? I mean she's a V6! Yeah yeah I know, *Bonk* "Coulda had a V8" but I can't afford the payments.

What kind of torque would I be looking at? I like tq more than hp sooooo yeah. Would I be spinning wheels with the lightest tap or will I have to floor it still to get a small peelout going?

Also, any engine wear I should be worried about?

I just want to know if I'll be floored and will know if it it was worth it.

Not worth it. If any mods, just get a cai and tune. That'll still run you around $550 though.Adding gears would be good. As far as performance, do the exhaust for the sound, the gains aren't really there.

That seems to be the easy answer for everything around here, huh? Well, like he said...he has a V6 because he couldn't afford the GT. Like many of us here.

My first performance mod was a CAI and Tune...and I don't regret it! Other than that, I have all Exterior mods. I did lower her recently which has proven to be great as far as handling goes. She sticks to the ground much better. Our V6 doesn't really get a noticeable gain from exhaust upgrades, which is why I have my singleexhaust converted to a straight pipe for sound. Gears won't really give you more HP, just better launches. You may want to look at JBA Shorty Headers for about $350 I think. Even little things like new 9mm Spark Plug wires will free up some HP (about $60).

CAI / tune, then save for either a SC or a GT.

If you plan on trading in your V6 for a GT soon, I wouldn't waste money on modding the V6.

In order to make that thing really move, you are going to need F/I

I like your vocabulary noober, rofl.

badda bing badda boom
shmozzola
*Bonk* "Coulda had a V8" <<lol

But yeah, cai and tune would really be worth it. I wouldn't bother much past that... just save your money for a supercharger or GT.

You won't be laying patches of rubber unless it's raining. Heck, I don't even lay that much. You might get a second or two of EERRRRKKKK!

Good luck!

CAI and tune, or just through a turbo. You have forged internals in the V6 so throw some boost at it.

Or you could[sm=nxsmile.gif]
