RE: 2007 new Foose worth $39500?
Unique Performance's contract to build Chip Foose's Mustang Stallion has ended - legal reasons I think. My neighbor has a Foose Mustang and I think it looks great! He gets looks from everyone everywhere he goes.
My neighborheard that Chip Foose may not contract with another builder tobuild hisMustangs, so there may only be 200 - 300 total in existence. At under $40k,this may be a good buy. I guess we will see when one ends up at the Barrett-Jackson auction.

I'm sorry, I meant 2007/2008 not 1997/1998. When I was typing that I was thinking of my old musgtang back in the late 90s. Those were fun times.
Anyways I gave up on the Foose, its too expensive. I'm looking into a Bullitt now.
Since my '08 GT is my daily driver I just wanted something to collect.
If the spouse is ok with it (one of the cars will be half financed the other paid off) then I'm doing it.
If not.. I'll stick with my GT and thats it.

You cant deny Foose is probably the last legitimate custom builder left. Rousch is basically becoming a branch off of Ford (Rousch even builds all of Ford's new Boss blocks) and, like Ford, plays it safe in the performance of cars it builds. Saleen is a money grabber, no denying that. Shelby is a cash cow now. Come on, Shelby GT with minimal mods costing what it costs, and then the CS6, CS8, and GT500? Shelby is looking for anyway to cash in on the S197. It doesn't even touch the GT500, just takes money for letting Ford use its name.
The front end on the Foose does a lot for me. It shows the Foose company really cared about making a great custom car and making something different from the rest. Foose didn't just slap on a billet grill and a CAI and charge $10K more. They really made a unique car.
Sorry for sort of ranting, buts its true. Custom S197s are nothing special and unique anymore, except for the Foose and Ford's Bullitt

Well, I have a 2008 GT vert already which I am using as a daily driver for spring/summer/fall. The new purchase will be non financed 100% cash. I'm considering the Bullitt as well since its cheaper then the Foose. The dealer seems to be firm on the 39k and I'm thinking the Bullitt will be worth more later. This second car would be driven on weekends but mostly kept as an investment, no more then a few thousand miles a year.
I might simply just keep my cash and wait another few years. Although the Bullitt seems nice.. and possibly a fun investment.

The car won't appreciate in value for at least 20-30 years and even then there is no gaurantee. Is anything post 72 worth appreciably more than what was paid for it? If you want the car for the fun of it that is one thing, but as an investment, it is a poor decision.
Just my opinion, good luck with the decision.

These cars will never appreciate in value.... Theres just nothing special about these mass produced vehicles anymore. Its not like the classics of the '60s. In the year 2050, 1950-1970 vehicles will still be the classics. Vehicles of today will never be.
